Alison Balsom plays Musgrave

  • Symphony Hall, Birmingham, UK (map)

Alison Balsom gives the new Musgrave Concerto its second outing in Birmingham with Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, who celebrate their centenary this year. Walton’s Troilus and Cressida is British music at its most sensuous – and sensational. Mirga loves it, and as part of the CBSO’s centenary celebrations she’s giving it a long-overdue revival. It closes the concert.
